Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred
- ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
- ability to perform basic math
- Serv Safe certification may be required within a designated time frame depending on location
- annual continuing education requirements including safety education and mandatory in-services
- Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location
- valid driver's license may be required depending on location
- ability to work rotating holidays and weekends
- ability to work from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- willingness to follow standardized recipes and food safety guidelines

Job Duties
- Prepare, assemble, cook, season, and portion baked goods and other foods for patients, residents, staff, and visitors
- adhere to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation
- perform washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
- maintain labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery
- follow standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines to prepare, store, and use food and food products
- document HACCP steps, temperatures, and outcomes
- operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, stovetops, grills, deep fat fryers, knives, dishwashers, and refrigerators
- work independently when necessary
- understand and apply food safety and sanitation processes
- demonstrate ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances within the hospital
