Job Requirements

  • possess a Level Two Person in Charge Food Protection Certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • 1 year of experience in high-volume food service and/or food production cooking
  • understanding of basic food preparation and cooking methods
  • ability to comprehend English when reading recipes, maintaining logs, and communicating in the kitchen
  • ability to verbalize menu options clearly and accurately
  • ability to perform simple mathematical calculations related to cooking measurements
  • physical ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate during shifts
  • capability to handle physical tasks including pushing, pulling, or lifting 100-300 pounds
  • ability to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction
  • willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
  • ability to tolerate exposure to chemicals, cleaning products, warm and cold temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • possess a Level Two Person in Charge Food Protection Certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • have 1 year of experience in high-volume food service or food production cooking
  • understanding of basic food preparation and cooking methods
  • ability to read and comprehend English for recipes and kitchen communication
  • strong verbal communication skills
  • ability to perform cooking-related mathematical calculations
  • completion of culinary certification or coursework preferred
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • basic knowledge of therapeutic diet plans preferred

Job Duties

  • perform a variety of cooking and food preparation tasks to provide quality food for patients and customers
  • prepare and serve restaurant-quality meals in a state-of-the-art healthcare facility
  • ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are maintained
  • communicate clearly and effectively with customers regarding menu options
  • maintain inventory and kitchen cleanliness
  • comply with therapeutic diet plans and special dietary requirements
  • assist in rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
