Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year cooking or baking experience
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods
  • Able to work with heat, steam, and cold producing equipment
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety principles
  • Appropriate knife skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one-year cooking or baking experience
  • Able to read and write English and follow oral and written directions
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles and applicable food codes
  • Demonstrated knife skills
  • Experience cooking from scratch or restaurant experience preferred
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods
  • Able to work safely around hot, cold, or steamy equipment

Job Duties

  • Cooks and seasons food for patients and guests following established recipes
  • Prepares and stores food in accordance with HACCP principles and applicable food codes
  • Safely uses, cleans, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Manages position paperwork including recipes and forecasting documents
  • Follows hand hygiene procedures and uses gloves when handling ready-to-eat foods
  • Responds appropriately and collaboratively to internal and external customers
  • Monitors food temperature control, date-marks food items, and ensures proper storage to maintain freshness and safety
