Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum of two years training in food quantity preparation sanitation and hygiene
  • minimum of three years institutional or Medical Center cooking experience
  • ability to read write and follow oral and written instructions
  • ability to do arithmetic calculations and computations

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum of three years institutional or Medical Center cooking experience
  • training in food quantity preparation
  • knowledge of sanitation and hygiene standards
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • proficiency in arithmetic calculations
  • secondary education with courses in baking or cooking preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare meats and main dishes to department standards
  • ensure all food is cooked according to strict quality and safety guidelines
  • operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly
  • prepare breads, rolls, biscuits, cakes, cookies, pies, and other bakery products
  • make puddings, custards, and gelatin products
  • follow recipes and production standards for quantity cooking
  • maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area
