Job Requirements

  • High school education or GED preferred
  • associate's or technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
  • SERVSAFE or FH-eFoodCard certification required
  • ability to prepare, season and cook food according to standards
  • ability to maintain sanitation and cleanliness in kitchen and work areas
  • capability to measure and mix ingredients accurately
  • willingness to participate in training
  • compliance with all safety and health regulations
  • willingness to receive all required vaccinations as condition of employment

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or GED preferred
  • associate's or technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
  • SERVSAFE certification or equivalent preferred in CA and HI
  • experience in food preparation and safety procedures
  • ability to follow recipes and cooking schedules
  • skills in operating kitchen utensils and equipment
  • knowledge of dietary needs and food safety regulations
  • effective communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares, seasons and cooks food for facility patients, employees and visitors
  • displays and serves food to customers
  • ensures dietary needs are met
  • previews menus and work orders to determine types and quantities of meats, vegetables, soups, salads, and desserts to be prepared
  • plans cooking schedule so foods are ready at specified times
  • ensures work stations are sanitary and inventory levels are maintained
  • measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • ensures each item meets quality standards in taste, appearance, and ingredients used
  • maintains sanitation throughout food preparation process
  • attends and assists in training personnel
  • performs other job-related duties as assigned
