Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years cooking experience in an institutional setting
  • Must obtain Food Handler Training Certificate within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Capability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry kitchen items

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years cooking experience in an institutional setting
  • Food Handler Training Certificate (ANSI Accredited) within 30 days of start date
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods

Job Duties

  • Prepare specified menu items for patients, cafeteria, and catered services
  • Ensure adherence to sanitation, safety, and food handling procedures
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • Monitor inventory and report supply needs
  • Collaborate with dietary staff to meet patient nutritional requirements
  • Follow hospital policies and procedures
  • Assist with training new kitchen staff
