Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED or a minimum of two years of cooking experience in an institutional setting
  • food handler training certificate program (ANSI accredited) within 30 days of start date
  • ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to perform cooking duties and stand for extended periods
  • compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • willingness to obtain ServSafe Manager Certificate if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or a minimum of two years of cooking experience in an institutional setting
  • Food Handler Training Certificate Program (ANSI Accredited) within 30 days of start date
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays
  • Experience in large-scale food preparation preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare specified menu items for patients, cafeteria and catered services
  • Ensure adherence to sanitation, safety and food handling procedures
  • Rotate through assigned kitchens and food service areas as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas
  • Collaborate with dietary and healthcare staff to meet patient nutritional needs
  • Monitor food inventory and report supply needs
  • Follow food safety regulations and standards
