Job Duties

  • Prepares food daily as outlined on the menus
  • alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs
  • ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving
  • coordinates and participates in serving food, including monitoring portion control
  • maintains an accurate record of chargeable meals and submits records timely
  • assists with menu planning and adjusts menus based on seasonal foods, vendor prices, and special events
  • identifies food and supplies needed and reports to the Dietary Manager
  • prepares meats for storage and portion control upon delivery
  • ensures proper handling, storage, and labeling of delivered foods
  • maintains a clean, orderly, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • ensures compliance with all regulations
  • assists in training other kitchen staff in food preparation
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • complies with all policies and procedures and updates
