Job Duties

  • Prepares food daily as outlined on the menus
  • alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs of residents
  • ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving
  • coordinates and participates in serving food including monitoring portion control
  • maintains an accurate record of chargeable meals and submits record to the office
  • assists with menu planning and adjusts menus with Dietary Manager
  • identifies food and supplies needed for menus and reports to Dietary Manager
  • prepares meats for storage and portion control upon delivery
  • ensures proper handling, storage and labeling of all delivered foods and ingredients
  • maintains a clean, orderly, safe and sanitary kitchen environment
  • ensures compliance with all regulations
  • assists in training other kitchen staff in food preparation
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • complies with all policies and procedures and any updates
