Job Requirements

  • Availability to work varied shifts and schedule including weekends
  • Ability to provide coverage during PTO and leaves of absence
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
  • Experience or training in quantity food preparation
  • Valid Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate or ability to pass related test
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare food service environment

Job Qualifications

  • Six months of experience in quantity food preparation or graduation from an approved culinary program
  • Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate or ability to pass Food Handlers Test given by verified manager or designee
  • Experience in quantity food preparation in healthcare (preferred)
  • ServSafe Certificate (preferred)
  • Formal culinary or quantity cooking education (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and prepare volume production of meals for patients, cafeteria, and special events
  • Ensure safe food handling practices and compliance with food safety regulations
  • Assist in menu development and modification to meet nutritional and operational needs
  • Assemble meals with proper portion control and presentation
  • Manage inventory and stock levels to support efficient food service operations
  • Maintain infection control and sanitation standards in all food preparation and service areas
  • Support departmental coverage needs including varied shifts and weekend work
