Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience or education in quantity food preparation
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong teamwork skills
- Able to work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow recipes and production sheets accurately
- Current Food Handler's Certificate or Card valid in Oregon
Job Duties
- Prepares hot and cold menu items for cafeteria, patient therapeutic diets, and special functions following standardized recipes
- Ensures food meets highest standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and portion control in line with prescribed diets
- Performs meat fabrication, fish cutting, and sauce making
- Maintains clean and sanitary workstations and kitchen equipment
- Properly cleans and closes kitchen stations according to closing checklists
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for dishes
- Assists in closing kitchen and supports team members
- Participates in employee meetings and suggests process improvements
- Performs other related tasks as assigned
