Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience or education in quantity food preparation
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Able to work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow recipes and production sheets accurately
  • Current Food Handler's Certificate or Card valid in Oregon

Job Duties

  • Prepares hot and cold menu items for cafeteria, patient therapeutic diets, and special functions following standardized recipes
  • Ensures food meets highest standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and portion control in line with prescribed diets
  • Performs meat fabrication, fish cutting, and sauce making
  • Maintains clean and sanitary workstations and kitchen equipment
  • Properly cleans and closes kitchen stations according to closing checklists
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for dishes
  • Assists in closing kitchen and supports team members
  • Participates in employee meetings and suggests process improvements
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned
