Job Requirements

  • One year experience as a cook in a large, complex healthcare facility, hotel, or institution
  • Knowledge of food and food products
  • Skill in quality food production including tray-line, cafeteria, grill, and catering
  • Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation
  • Knowledge of health department codes and sanitation policies
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Ability to work weekends, variable days and hours
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for long periods
  • Employment subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience as a cook in a large, complex healthcare facility, hotel, or institution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food and food products
  • Proven skill in all areas of quality food production including tray-line, cafeteria, grill, and catering
  • Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • Thorough knowledge of health department codes and sanitation policies
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in cooking at a Title 22 licensed healthcare facility preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare hot and cold menu items according to standardized recipes
  • Ensure food is prepared to high standards of appearance, taste, texture, temperature, and portion control
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization at all times
  • Adhere to health department codes and sanitation policies
  • Operate tray-line, cafeteria, grill, and catering stations proficiently
  • Support food service to patients in a healthcare setting
  • Perform other related duties as required
