Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to perform the work of a Cook (Dual Rate) without more than normal supervision
  • Experience preparing and serving meals for groups
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 45 pounds or more
  • Capability to work split shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Good physical condition especially in lower back
  • Compliance with safety gear and protective clothing requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to perform the duties of a Cook (Dual Rate) without more than normal supervision
  • Knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment used in cooking for large groups
  • Experience in preparing and serving a variety of foods including meats, poultry, fish, vegetables, fruits, and baked goods
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and use protective clothing and equipment
  • Good physical condition to meet the demands of the job
  • Color and depth perception suitable for low visibility conditions
  • U.S. citizenship

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve meals for groups of people including meats, poultry, fish, vegetables, fruits, and baked goods
  • Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear while working in high-temperature galley environments
  • Lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to and occasionally over 45 pounds
  • Maintain good physical condition to endure prolonged standing, walking, and climbing
  • Work under the supervision of the Cook-Steward and complete assigned tasks accurately
  • Operate kitchen tools and equipment effectively and safely
  • Comply with established safety practices to prevent accidents and injury
