Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • ability to perform cooking duties without more than normal supervision
  • experience preparing and serving meals for groups
  • knowledge of cooking materials and kitchen equipment
  • physical ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs or more
  • ability to stand, walk and climb for extended periods
  • must maintain good lower back condition
  • color and depth perception required
  • ability to work in hot and noisy environments
  • willingness to wear safety gear and comply with safety practices

Job Qualifications

  • ability to do the work of a cook without more than normal supervision
  • knowledge of cooking various meats, poultry, fish, vegetables, fruits and baked goods
  • experience in preparing meals for groups
  • ability to work in below average visibility and maintain color and depth perception
  • understanding of kitchen tools and equipment
  • U.S. citizen
  • potential ability to obtain U.S. Coast Guard License or certification for dual-rated duties

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve meals for groups of people
  • use knowledge of materials, tools and equipment used in cooking
