Job Requirements

  • Age 18 or older
  • Able to pass Minnesota DHS background study
  • Physical demands include daily use of computer, phone, and kitchen facility equipment
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
  • Lifting requirement not more than 50lbs unassisted independently
  • Frequent reaching, bending and stooping
  • Ability to navigate program or office environment such as ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways and entrances, and accessing facilities
  • Broad cooking skills
  • Working knowledge of kitchen operating procedures
  • Proficient English communication and documentation skills

Job Qualifications

  • Age 18 or older
  • Able to pass Minnesota DHS background study
  • Broad cooking skills in a variety of venues with regard to preparation and serving of nutritional meals
  • Working knowledge of kitchen operating procedures including food handling and cleanliness following Safe Serv practices
  • Proficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 years related experience preparing food in a scratch kitchen preferred
  • Previous experience in an addiction treatment residential facility preferred
  • Safe Serv certification preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work on a team
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
  • Minnesota driver’s license without restrictions preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare nutritious meals ensuring special dietary needs are incorporated into the menu for clients in a residential treatment facility
  • Prepare pre-packaged snacks for outpatient treatment programs
  • Maintain appropriate health standards for food preparation and kitchen cleanliness
  • Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with residential and outpatient program clients
  • Work split shift hours when required
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state guidelines and HIPAA requirements
  • Follow Safe Serv practices and kitchen operating procedures
