Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- active Food Handlers Card as required by Department of Health
- demonstrated leadership, training, and supervision skills
- proficient written and oral communication skills
- physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day
- ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- comfortable working in extreme temperatures including near cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- availability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors for events
- must be criminally cleared
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- current Food Handlers Card as required by Department of Health
- demonstrated skills in food preparation and safety
- effective communication skills with residents and team members
- experience in a culinary or food service role is preferred
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- willingness to learn and adapt to senior living facility standards
Job Duties
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
- ensure food is attractively presented and served in a timely manner
- follow all health and safety protocols including proper hygiene and food temperature monitoring
- familiarize yourself with residents and their dietary preferences
- participate in resident orientations
- maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas
- assist with food inventory and storage as needed
