Job Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • active Food Handlers Card as required by Department of Health
  • demonstrated leadership, training, and supervision skills
  • proficient written and oral communication skills
  • physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day
  • ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • comfortable working in extreme temperatures including near cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • availability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors for events
  • must be criminally cleared

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • current Food Handlers Card as required by Department of Health
  • demonstrated skills in food preparation and safety
  • effective communication skills with residents and team members
  • experience in a culinary or food service role is preferred
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • willingness to learn and adapt to senior living facility standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
  • ensure food is attractively presented and served in a timely manner
  • follow all health and safety protocols including proper hygiene and food temperature monitoring
  • familiarize yourself with residents and their dietary preferences
  • participate in resident orientations
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas
  • assist with food inventory and storage as needed
