Job Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • current Food Handlers Card as required by the Department of Health
  • demonstrated leadership, training, and supervision skills
  • proficient written and oral communication skills
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
  • ability to frequently lift and or move items up to 50 pounds
  • comfortable with exposure to extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • ability to work mostly indoors and outdoors as needed
  • must be criminally cleared

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • current Food Handlers Card
  • proven skills in food preparation and kitchen safety
  • proficient communication skills
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • experience in a food service environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
  • provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented
  • ensure health protocols are followed including proper hygiene and food temperatures
  • maintain a clean and sanitary food preparation area
  • familiarize yourself with residents and their preferences
  • participate in resident orientations
  • assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and supplies
