Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- current Food Handlers Card as required by the Department of Health
- demonstrated leadership, training, and supervision skills
- proficient written and oral communication skills
- ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
- ability to frequently lift and or move items up to 50 pounds
- comfortable with exposure to extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- ability to work mostly indoors and outdoors as needed
- must be criminally cleared
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current Food Handlers Card
- proven skills in food preparation and kitchen safety
- proficient communication skills
- ability to work as part of a team
- experience in a food service environment preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
- provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented
- ensure health protocols are followed including proper hygiene and food temperatures
- maintain a clean and sanitary food preparation area
- familiarize yourself with residents and their preferences
- participate in resident orientations
- assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and supplies
