Job Requirements

  • Be at least eighteen years of age
  • possess a current Food Handlers Card
  • have demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision
  • have proficient written and oral communication skills
  • be physically able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop for prolonged periods
  • be capable of lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds
  • be comfortable working near extreme temperatures
  • be able to work indoors and outdoors as needed
  • have a clear criminal record

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • current Food Handlers Card
  • effective communication skills in English
  • demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation
  • ability to engage with elderly residents with sensitivity
  • competency in culinary techniques

Job Duties

  • Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
  • provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion
  • ensure health protocols are always followed including proper hygiene and sanitary food preparation
  • maintain proper food temperatures
  • familiarize with residents and their food preferences
  • participate in resident orientations
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
