Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to demonstrate cooking skills and follow printed recipes and plate specifications
- basic food safety knowledge and/or ServeSafe certification
- ability to get 90% or above on food safety quiz
- knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
- physical ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift frequently up to 40 pounds
- ability to work standing for long periods in a fast-paced and hot environment
- reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- open availability including holidays and weekends
- effective English communication skills, both verbal and written
- ability to take direction in a positive manner

Job Duties
- assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment
- stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
- portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection oven and refrigeration equipment
- prepares item for grilling, frying, sauteing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating
- follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
- handles, stores and rotates all products properly
- assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
- closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations
- assists others in closing the kitchen
- performs other related duties as assigned by the Chef or manager-on-duty
- be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 40 pounds
- be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- must have the ability to work in a fast paced and hot environment
- must have regular, reliable & dependable transportation & attendance
- attends all scheduled team member meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
- effective English communication skills, both verbal & written to clearly communicate with managers, kitchen & serving staff
- must have open availability, including holidays & weekends
