Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- basic food safety knowledge and/or be serve safe certified
- must get 90% or above on food safety quiz
- able to take direction in a positive manner
- must have open availability including holidays and weekends
- must have regular, reliable and dependable transportation and attendance
- able to work in a fast paced and hot environment
- be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 40 pounds
- able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- demonstrate cooking skills and be able to follow printed recipes and plate specifications
- effective English communication skills, both verbal and written
- knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
- basic food safety knowledge and/or be serve safe certified
- ability to take direction in a positive manner
- able to excel in a guest and team-oriented environment
Job Duties
- prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
- stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
- portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven and refrigeration equipment
- prepare items for grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating
- follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
- handle, store and rotate all products properly
- assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
- close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
- assist others in closing the kitchen
- perform other related duties as assigned by the Chef or manager-on-duty
- be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 40 pounds
- be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- work in a fast paced and hot environment
