Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience preferred but not necessary
  • ability to demonstrate cooking skills
  • must get 90% or above on food safety quiz
  • ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 40 pounds
  • must be able to work standing for long periods
  • ability to work in fast paced and hot environment
  • must have regular, reliable and dependable transportation and attendance
  • open availability including holidays and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • cooking skills with ability to follow printed recipes and plate specifications
  • basic food safety knowledge and/or serve safe certification
  • effective English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • ability to work in a guest and team oriented environment
  • ability to take direction positively
  • knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operations and maintenance

Job Duties

  • assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules
  • prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using ovens, grills, fryers and other equipment
  • stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations
  • portions food products prior to cooking according to specifications
  • maintains a clean and sanitary workstation
  • prepares items for cooking by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and marinating
  • follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup
  • handles, stores and rotates all products properly
  • assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods
  • closes the kitchen properly and follows closing checklist
  • performs other related duties as assigned by Chef or manager-on-duty
