Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience preferred but not necessary
  • Ability to follow printed recipes and plate specifications
  • Basic food safety knowledge and/or be serve safe certified
  • Ability to excel in a guest and team-oriented environment
  • Ability to take direction in a positive manner
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and hot environment
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 40 pounds
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Regular, reliable and dependable transportation and attendance
  • Open availability, including holidays and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrate cooking skills and be able to follow printed recipes and plate specifications
  • Able to excel in a guest and team-oriented environment
  • The employee must have the ability to take direction in a positive manner
  • The employee must have basic food safety knowledge and/or be serve safe certified
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
  • Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Duties

  • Assumes 100 percent responsibility for quality of products served
  • Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules
  • Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
  • Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, fryers, pasta cookers, sautÃ

  • Prepares items for grilling, frying, sautÃ

  • ing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
  • Handles, stores and rotates all products properly
  • Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
  • Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • Assists others in closing the kitchen
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Chef or manager-on-duty
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 40 pounds
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced and hot environment
  • Must have regular, reliable and dependable transportation and attendance
  • Attends all scheduled team member meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written to clearly communicate with managers, kitchen and serving staff
  • Must have open availability, including holidays and weekends
  • Hours per week varies
