Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience preferred but not necessary
- Demonstrate cooking skills and ability to follow printed recipes and plate specifications
- Ability to excel in guest and team-oriented environment
- Ability to take direction in a positive manner
- Basic food safety knowledge and/or ServeSafe certification
- Achieve 90% or above on food safety quiz
- Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
- Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 40 pounds
- Ability to work in standing position for long periods
- Ability to work in a fast paced and hot environment
- Regular, reliable and dependable transportation and attendance
- Open availability including holidays and weekends
Job Qualifications

- Basic food safety knowledge and/or ServeSafe certification
- Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written
Job Duties
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations
- Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including grills, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection oven and refrigeration equipment
- Prepares items for grilling, frying, sauteing or other methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Chef or manager-on-duty
