Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- basic food safety knowledge and/or Serve Safe certification
- ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds
- ability to stand for long periods
- effective English communication skills
- open availability including holidays and weekends
- reliable transportation and attendance
- willingness to work in a fast-paced, hot environment
- ability to follow directions positively
- ability to assume 100 percent responsibility for food quality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- basic food safety knowledge or serve safe certification
- ability to follow printed recipes and plate specifications
- effective English communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- positive attitude and ability to take direction
- experience preferred but not necessary
- knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
Job Duties
- Assumes responsibility for quality of products served
- knows and complies with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules
- prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
- stocks and maintains food levels at line stations
- portions food products prior to cooking according to recipe specifications
- maintains a clean and sanitary workstation
- prepares items for cooking by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and marinating
- follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup
- handles, stores, and rotates products properly
- assists in food prep during off-peak periods
- closes kitchen properly and follows closing checklist
- performs other duties as assigned by chef or manager
