Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience preferred but not necessary
- Ability to demonstrate cooking skills and follow printed recipes and plate specifications
- Basic food safety knowledge and/or ServSafe certification with 90% or above on food safety quiz
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot environment
- Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Regular, reliable, and dependable transportation and attendance
- Open availability including holidays and weekends
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
Job Duties
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth service
- Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipes
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and kitchen equipment
- Prepares items for grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
- Handles, stores and rotates all food products properly
- Assists in food prep during off-peak periods
- Closes kitchen properly and follows closing checklist
- Performs other duties as assigned by Chef or manager
