Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year related dietary experience
  • Food handlers card within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to comply with company attendance policy
  • Ability to perform work in shift and on-call situations
  • Ability to maintain all applicable required education
  • Ability to follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to perform related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year related dietary experience
  • Graduate of related technical school may substitute experience
  • Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs
  • Knowledge of growth and development applicable to patient groups
  • Understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients
  • Demonstrate competency through initial orientation and ongoing competency validation
  • Positive customer service and co-worker relations skills
  • Compliance with attendance policies
  • Ability to participate in continuous quality improvement activities
  • Ability to perform work cost-effectively and in alignment with organizational mission
  • Knowledge of departmental pay practices and scheduling policies

Job Duties

  • Accurately determine the quantities of food to prepare
  • Complete production worksheets and documentation
  • Standardize and develop new recipes
  • Prepare foods for patients, employees, visitors, and special functions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Inspect food stations and equipment to ensure that proper sanitary and safety regulations are enforced
  • Orient and train new employees as assigned
  • Assist in patient satisfaction goals
