Job Requirements
- Previous experience as a short-order cook is helpful
- customer service-oriented attitude
- must be able to pass a criminal background check
- previous experience in a dietary or food service role is a plus but not required
- ability to follow instructions and established routines
- basic understanding of infection control protocols
- ability to work well as part of a team
- ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of meals as directed
- adhere to Federal and State long-term care regulations for food safety and sanitation
- keep the kitchen and work areas clean by washing and cleaning equipment and utensils
- safely operate and assess the condition of food service equipment
- perform other duties or assignments as directed by the Dietary Manager
- set up dining areas and assist with serving meals to residents and facility staff
- ensure work areas are kept clean and organized
- wash and sanitize food preparation equipment, utensils, floors, dishes, flatware, and trays
- follow established routines and instructions for meal preparation and service
- adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sanitary environment
- provide excellent customer service to residents and staff
- load and unload the dishwasher, ensuring it operates efficiently
- keep the work area clean, organized, and free of clutter
- follow health and safety regulations to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment
- collaborate with other kitchen staff as part of a team
