Job Requirements
- Ability to pass a written test at the eighth grade level
- one year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in large-scale food preparation and serving
- must obtain approved food handler's certificate within seven days of appointment
- must provide official transcripts or diplomas verifying education by closing date
- detailed complete work history must be submitted
- must submit Veterans preference documentation if applicable
- limited daily contact with residents
- ability to adhere to strict food safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in large-scale food preparation and serving
- ability to pass a written test at the eighth grade level
- certified food handler or ability to obtain certification within seven days after appointment
Job Duties
- Prepare three meals and two snacks daily for residents
- maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
- follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines
- prepare, cook, bake, and serve various foods according to recipes and NSLP menus
- assist in ordering and receiving food service items
- maintain daily and weekly logs for inspections and nutrition compliance
- communicate kitchen equipment maintenance issues to supervisor
