Job Requirements
- ability to pass a written test at the eighth grade level
- one year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in large-scale food preparation and serving
- must furnish an approved food handler's certificate within seven days after appointment
- complete work history provided in application
- submit official transcripts or diplomas if applicable
- submit veterans preference documentation if applicable
- redact personal information in all submitted documents
Job Qualifications
- ability to pass a written test at the eighth grade level
- one year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in large-scale food preparation and serving
- valid food handler's certificate
- knowledge of HACCP and food safety principles
- experience with cafeteria or institutional cooking equipment
- ability to follow special dietary and nutritional guidelines
- strong organizational and scheduling skills
Job Duties
- prepare three meals and two snacks daily for residents
- maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements
- prepare, cook, bake, and serve various foods in large quantities according to NSLP compliant menus
- assist in ordering and receiving food service items
- maintain daily and weekly logs for nutrition programs
- report maintenance and equipment issues to supervisor
- ensure timely delivery of meals to residents
