Job Requirements
- Ability to relate and be respectful to a wide variety of people and provide superior customer service
- Must report to work on time and in proper uniform adhering to attendance policy
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding information about residents, co-workers, vendors, family members, and visitors
- Must have reliable transportation
Job Qualifications
- Must possess as a minimum a high school education or be in the process of obtaining one
- One year culinary experience in a hotel, country club, restaurant, or senior living community
- Servsafe certification and/or Monroe County Level 1 Food Worker Certification required
- A combination of experience, education, and/or training demonstrating relevant knowledge and skills
Job Duties
- Review menus prior to preparation of food
- Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus
- Prepare and serve alternative menu items as needed as requested by a resident due to food allergies or dietary restrictions
- Inspect special diet orders to assure that the correct diet is served
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, prep sheets, reports, daily menus, and submit to the Executive Chef/Lead Cook
- Ensure that all dining procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
- Ensure that menus are filed in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department staff as well as other departments to assure proper food service
- Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the Executive Chef and/or Dining Services Director immediately
- Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available
- Assist in the inventory and storage of in-coming food and supplies as necessary
- Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate or as directed
