Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one-year cooking or baking experience
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods
  • Ability to work with equipment generating heat, steam, or cold
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food codes
  • Strong knife skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one-year cooking or baking experience
  • Able to read and write English and follow oral and written directions
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of HACCP and food safety codes
  • Demonstrates appropriate knife skills
  • Experience cooking from scratch or a la carte restaurant preferred

Job Duties

  • Cooks and seasons food following established recipes
  • Prepares and stores food according to HACCP principles and food codes
  • Manages position paperwork including recipes and forecasting
  • Follows hand hygiene procedures diligently
  • Uses and cleans kitchen equipment safely and effectively
  • Date-marks and monitors food items for safety and freshness
  • Prepares, assembles, serves, or bakes food and beverages meeting timely service deadlines
