Job Requirements
- One year experience as a cook in large volume settings or completion of vocational/technical program in commercial cooking
- OR three years experience as a baker in commercial settings
- Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within six months
- Ability to move and transport items up to 50 pounds
- Physical dexterity of hands and fingers
- Availability to work Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse community
- Ability to work in a busy environment and lead a team
Job Qualifications
- ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within six months
- Experience in retail food service and menu development
- Knowledge of cash register operations, pricing, invoicing, and equipment troubleshooting
- Experience with purchasing, marketing, and item display
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in diverse environments
- Ability to work effectively in busy settings and lead a team
- Customer service skills with problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook
Job Duties
- Coordinate menu and recipe development
- Make pricing decisions for food and beverages
- Control inventory and order supplies
- Prepare and serve all food items
- Train and supervise student employees
- Maintain cleanliness standards per health guidelines
- Manage upkeep and repair of kitchen and coffee shop equipment
- Oversee campus catering events
- Assist with cleanup in seating areas
