Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two to four years of relevant food service experience
- Basic English reading and speaking skills
- Ability to perform simple math calculations
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand, lift, bend and walk for long periods
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly
- Must follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Punctual and dependable
- Must be able to communicate and cooperate with team members
- Willingness to be reassigned as needed within the venue
- Must complete company safety trainings
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Degree or certificate in culinary arts preferred
- Two to four years working in a fast paced restaurant, caterer or relevant food service area
- Proactive, self-motivated, organized and able to prioritize
- Clean and constantly aware of sanitation procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change quickly
- Punctual and dependable
- Able to read and retain information such as recipes, prep lists and menus
- Able to perform simple mathematical calculations
- Able to speak and read basic English
- Works well with others in a stressful environment
- Able to move quickly and act on assigned duties
- Maintains personal hygiene and a well groomed appearance
- Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods
- Physical ability to stand, kneel, lift at least 30 pounds, carry items, push carts, walk fast and bend
- Experience working in a fast paced professional kitchen environment
Job Duties
- Assist in receiving and storing all food deliveries
- Follow FIFO method for receiving and storing food
- Label and date all food items upon receiving to enforce FIFO
- Make sure product is rotated when storing on designated storage shelves
- Notify manager or Chef of any expired product
- Maintain a friendly, positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times
- Report for scheduled event on time and report to assigned area timely
- Fulfill assigned opening and closing duties
- Report to direct supervisor for prep lists and timelines of the day's tasks
- Carry out assigned tasks in a timely and safe fashion using correct recipes
- Constant maintenance of walk-in coolers, reach-ins, dry storage and all work areas
- Have extensive knowledge of all menus including specials
- Communicate with supervisors, attendants, runners, chefs and management
- Work as a team with fellow associates and other service departments
- Maintain attention to detail that will exceed expectations
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly kitchen
- Complete closing duties and checkout with manager or supervisor
- Know the layout of kitchen and back of house areas
- Be aware of other food and beverage outlets within the venue
- Work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
- May be reassigned based on venue needs
- Practice safe work habits
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
