Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two to four years of experience in relevant food service
  • Ability to stand, kneel, lift at least 30 pounds, carry items, push carts, walk at a fast pace and bend
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of sanitation and food safety procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly
  • Punctuality and dependability
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to communicate in basic English
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene and grooming
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Degree or certificate in culinary arts preferred
  • Two to four years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant, catering or relevant food service area
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Organized with good prioritization skills
  • Knowledge and practice of sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes quickly
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Ability to read and retain information like recipes, prep lists, menus and signage
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to speak and read basic English
  • Ability to work well with others in a stressful environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods and walk long distances
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance
  • Experience working in a fast-paced professional kitchen in close quarters with others

Job Duties

  • Assist in receiving and storing all food deliveries
  • Follow FIFO (First In First Out) method for receiving and storing food
  • Label and date all food items upon receiving to enforce FIFO
  • Make sure product is rotated when storing on designated storage shelves
  • Notify manager or chef of any expired product
  • Maintain a friendly, positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times
  • Report for scheduled events on time and report to assigned area promptly
  • Fulfill assigned opening and closing duties
  • Report to direct supervisor for prep lists and timelines of daily tasks
  • Carry out assigned tasks using correct recipes in a timely and safe manner
  • Maintain cleanliness of walk-in coolers, reach-ins, dry storage, and work areas
  • Have extensive knowledge of all menus including specials
  • Communicate with supervisors, attendants, runners, chefs and management
  • Work as a team with fellow associates and other service departments
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly kitchen environment
  • Complete closing duties and checkout with manager or supervisor
  • Know the layout of kitchen and back of house areas and be able to direct staff and guests
  • Be aware of other food and beverage outlets within the venue
  • Be flexible to reassignment based on venue needs
  • Work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Practice safe work habits and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Complete company-wide safety and job-specific training
  • Maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance
  • Move quickly and act on assigned duties
  • Stand, kneel, lift at least 30 pounds, carry items, push carts, walk at a fast pace, and bend as needed
