Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation desirable
  • ability to work 1-2 shifts per week typically scheduled between 5:30 am and 2:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • valid Act 34 clearance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience cooking in bulk preferred
  • knowledge of safe food handling procedures
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and production sheets
  • basic understanding of HACCP guidelines
  • strong attention to detail
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work flexible shifts including mornings and occasional evenings or weekends

Job Duties

  • Prepare portions serve and store items according to recipes production sheets portion controls and procedures
  • wrap label and date all stored food items
  • maintain work area inspection readiness at all times and follow hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP) procedures to provide patients/customers with safe food by properly recording temperatures and following safe food handling procedures through the use of gloves and properly diluted sanitation solutions
  • adhere to all safety standards in the execution of job duties
  • complete all necessary preparation for next day services
  • use and maintain all equipment according to proper safety procedures
  • ensure that all food is delivered to designated areas in a timely manner and replenish foods as necessary using batch cookery as much as possible to ensure freshness
  • report malfunctioning equipment immediately
  • chill and store all leftover food properly and maintain a cooling temperature log consistently
