Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably in a high-volume environment
  • food handlers certification required
  • ability to work in extreme temperatures and stand for extended periods
  • able to lift up to 45 lbs
  • ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
  • excellent communication skills
  • good physical stamina
  • basic computer proficiency
  • must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • regular attendance with punctuality
  • compliance with company safety and security policies
  • ability to follow detailed recipes and procedures
  • capable of operating a variety of cooking equipment
  • must be able to read, write, and speak the primary language of the workplace

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably in a high-volume environment
  • food handlers certification
  • excellent leadership capability and customer relations skills
  • good communication skills both verbal and written
  • detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • basic computer skills
  • basic computational ability
  • experience using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
  • knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods such as grilling, baking, boiling
  • ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers with patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • self-driven and able to work independently

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner
  • measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles
  • set up station with predetermined mise en place required to service all functions
  • adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
  • clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
  • perform all other duties assigned by manager or supervisor
