Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • experience in kitchen food preparation and routine
  • bilingual English/Spanish or English/Navajo helpful
  • ability to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire
  • successful completion of health exam and TB test
  • passing criminal background checks
  • valid driver’s license and insurance if driving
  • compliance with PMS automobile usage and drug-free workplace policies
  • willingness to complete transportation related trainings if required

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in kitchen including food preparation and routine
  • bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Navajo preferred
  • ability to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications
  • valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance if driving is required
  • strong organizational and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals in accordance with USDA and Head Start nutrition standards
  • operate kitchen equipment and maintain kitchen sanitation
  • manage meal delivery to multiple Head Start Centers as needed
  • comply with New Mexico Child Care licensing regulations
  • maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • assist with inventory management and restocking kitchen supplies
  • ensure proper documentation and reporting of meal preparation and delivery
