Job Requirements
- 18 years or older
- Experience in kitchen required including food preparation and kitchen routine
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Navajo helpful
- If assigned to Little Feet Child Development Center, preferences and opportunities for training and employment to Native Americans/Navajos given
- Have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire
- Successful completion of initial post-offer health exam and TB test
- Must pass criminal background checks
- If required to drive, must possess valid driver's license
- Must provide current motor vehicle record and personal automobile insurance
- Compliance with PMS Policies on automobile usage and drug-free workplace
- May be required to complete transportation-related trainings
Job Qualifications
- Experience in kitchen including food preparation and kitchen routine
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Navajo helpful
- Ability to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire
- Knowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program regulations
- Familiarity with Head Start/Early Head Start Nutrition Performance Standards
- Ability to work in a team and adaptable to multiple sites
Job Duties
- Prepare meals according to USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines
- Manage kitchen operations in compliance with Head Start/Early Head Start nutrition standards
- Ensure all food preparation meets New Mexico child care licensing regulations
- Deliver meals to multiple Head Start Centers as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with other staff to support program goals
