Job Description

Iris Memory Care of Tulsa is a specialized assisted living community dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive memory care services for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Located conveniently in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the corner of 101st and Mingo near Creek Turnpike, this community offers a serene and supportive environment for its 54 residents spread across three residential buildings. Job Requirements

  • One to two years experience in a similar position preferred
  • working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation
  • successful completion of an approved state food service ServSafe course as required
  • ability to prepare and serve a wide range of foods skillfully
  • ability to perform and instruct others in food preparation, food serving, and cleaning tasks
  • ability to communicate proficiently in English, verbally and in writing
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • 35 pounds regularly
  • availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary
  • provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test

Job Qualifications

  • One to two years experience in a similar position preferred
  • working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation
  • demonstrated ability in food preparation and services
  • supervisory experience in dealing with older adults and their food needs preferred
  • twelve 12 plus years of education preferred
  • meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state and local requirements
  • successful completion of an approved state food service ServSafe course as required
  • ability to prepare and serve a wide range of foods skillfully
  • ability to perform and instruct others in food preparation, food serving, and cleaning tasks
  • maintains acceptable attendance records and follows work schedule
  • requires minimal supervision
  • displays cleanliness, good grooming, and personal appearance and follows dress requirements
  • provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test
  • ability to communicate proficiently in English, verbally and in writing
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • 35 pounds regularly
  • routinely requires pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stooping
  • availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary
  • demonstrates as a team player with a positive attitude
  • able to work with IRIS Team Members and IRIS ownership/management staff

Job Duties

  • Preparation, presentation, and efficient meal service delivery
  • prepares food items and serves food to residents within scheduled time frame
  • maintains quality of food services, quantity prepared, and sanitation of food preparation area
  • maintains clean, neat, and safe working environment
  • ensures that resident food needs and preferences are known and coordinates menu requirements with care staff as needed
  • maintains meal service records as required
  • reports problems, concerns, and issues observed with food service and communicates them appropriately
