Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months or more related experience and/or training
- Ability to stand for 6-8 hours per shift
- Ability to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, shake, stir, and wipe
- Ability to taste or smell for food quality
- Ability to hear well amongst loud background noise
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-pound cases
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to frequently immerse hands in water and cleaning agents
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months or more related experience or training
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and cooking skills
- Ability to properly use cooking utensils and equipment
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Effective communication skills with coworkers and customers
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to apply reasonable understanding of instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
Job Duties
- Cook and plate food products following portion standards and production requirements
- Organize and plan daily activities by reviewing pull and prep lists
- Cook and store food at required temperatures, label, date, and rotate products per company standards
- Test foods for proper cooking using tasting, smelling, measuring devices or utensils
- Monitor and maintain cooking temperatures of large equipment such as grills, deep fryers, ovens, broilers, and roasters
- Maintain food preparation areas by cleaning equipment and workstations immediately after use
- Follow safe food handling and hygiene practices
- Adhere to workplace safety standards for equipment operation and report malfunctions
- Perform opening and closing side work according to checklists
- Perform other duties as assigned
