Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3 months experience as line cook
  • minimum 3 months experience as pantry/prep cook
  • 2 year culinary degree or 5 years cooking experience in restaurant/catering/banquet facility
  • culinary training
  • sanitation/safety training including ServSafe or comparable certification
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • visual acuity
  • flexible schedule
  • ability to work in dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environments

Job Duties

  • Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other assigned menu items
  • create consistent finished products with high-quality presentation
  • learn and follow menus and recipes accurately
  • read and manage multiple contracts efficiently
  • prepare prep lists for kitchen operations
  • ensure food safety and maintain sanitization of work area, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration
  • take responsibility for assigned employees when in a lead capacity
  • communicate and delegate tasks effectively
  • ensure proper execution and equipment training
  • manage food costs, inventory control, and purchasing
  • maintain a flexible schedule including location changes
  • oversee front of the house presence including carving for up to 1000 guests
