Job Requirements

  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards required
  • Minimum of 1 year of related cooking experience required
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates safely
  • Frequent immersion of hands in water and chemical solutions
  • Ability to work in a hot environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals
  • Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry cooking methods

Job Duties

  • Follows recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items
  • Tastes products, follows menus, estimates food requirements, checks production and keeps records for production planning
  • Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment
  • Practices excellent food safety and sanitation practices and complies with HACCP standards
  • Operates kitchen equipment, measures and mixes ingredients, washes, peels, cuts and shreds fruits and vegetables
  • Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of product
  • Performs other duties as assigned
