Job Requirements

  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards required
  • Minimum of 1 year closely related cooking experience
  • Food knowledge pertaining to soups, sauté, broiler, fry and pantry required
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and short correspondence
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist and stand for normal job functions
  • Ability to frequently immerse hands in water and water diluted with chemicals
  • Ability to work with sharp knives, utensils and hot plates
  • Ability to work in hot environments

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year closely related cooking experience
  • Experience in high volume or fast casual dining preferred
  • Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry and pantry cooking
  • Ability to read, comprehend instructions and converse effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items
  • Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records for planning and requisitioning supplies
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation and comply with HACCP standards
  • Operate various kitchen equipment and prepare fruits and vegetables
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
  • Perform other duties as assigned
