Job Requirements
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards required
- Minimum of 1 year closely related cooking experience
- Experience in high volume or fast casual dining preferred
- Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry food preparation
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and short correspondence
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
- Frequent exposure to water and chemical solutions
- Frequent use of sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
- Frequent work in hot environments
- Must comply with company and safety policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience required
- Experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation skills and HACCP standards
- Familiarity with soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry cooking
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members and managers
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food and beverage products
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies and equipment
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
- Measure and mix ingredients
- Wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
- Perform other duties as assigned
