Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have at least 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hot environment
- Ability to frequently immerse hands in water and chemical solutions
- Must be comfortable working with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
Job Qualifications
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Work experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Food knowledge pertaining to soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
- Ability to converse comfortably with individuals
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food and beverage products
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production needs and requisition supplies and equipment as necessary
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices complying with HACCP standards
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of product
- Perform other duties as assigned
