Job Requirements

  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • Food knowledge pertaining to soups, sauté, broiler, fry and pantry
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Frequent immersion of hands in water and chemical solutions
  • Frequent work with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
  • Work in hot environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food preparation and HACCP standards
  • Experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
  • Comfortable conversing with individuals
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform job functions

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items
  • Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to accurately plan production and requisition supplies
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of product
  • Perform other duties as assigned
