Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of closely related cooking experience in a high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment
- Knowledge of food preparation pertaining to sauces, soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
- Ability to lift and or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
- Frequent immersion of hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
- Frequent work with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
- Frequent work in hot environments
- Supervisor or lead experience preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of cooking experience in a high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques including sauces, soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and managers
- Familiarity with HACCP food safety standards
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, and perform job functions in hot kitchen environments
- Experience in supervisory or lead roles preferred
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food and beverage products
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
- Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of product
- Perform other duties as assigned
