Job Requirements

  • Six months of general work experience
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of the care and use of food service equipment and kitchen utensils
  • Knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service and necessary precautionary measures
  • Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication skills to exchange information
  • Availability to work varied hours
  • Security sensitive position
  • Submission of at least two professional references

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and serve food items for daily meal service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Operate and maintain food service equipment properly
  • Assist in training hourly staff on washing, sanitizing, and handling techniques
  • Ensure consistent supply of cleaned and sanitized dishes adhering to safety protocols
  • Contribute to a positive dining experience for the campus community
