This position is a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) role assigned to the Bowling Facility at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Fort Dix serves as a United States Army installation with a long-standing history of providing comprehensive support and services to military personnel and their families. Job Requirements
- Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment
- Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler training
- Requires satisfactory completion of a criminal background investigation
- Experience in food preparation and presentation
- Education does not substitute experience for this role
- Proof of eligibility must be provided by the closing date
Job Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation and presentation from grills, snack bars, restaurants, clubs, or similar settings
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Knowledge of food service equipment operation and cleaning
- Understanding of food characteristics and seasoning
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks for extended periods
- Food Handler's Certificate or completion of food handler training
- Successful completion of a criminal background investigation
Job Duties
- Prepare and present food items following established methods and procedures
- Ensure food service equipment is properly operated and cleaned
- Follow oral and written instructions carefully
- Work safely and maintain food safety standards
- Season food and determine when food is adequately cooked
- Continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend during work shifts
- Lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds as needed
