Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working as a cook or in a food preparation role
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling
  • Ability to handle kitchen equipment safely and effectively
  • Ability to work flexible hours including standing for long periods
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and strength
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and sanitation standards
  • Physical capability to perform job duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food adhering to safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests and co-workers
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets
